Setterwalls Law firm
Functionalist offices at Humlegården
Setterwalls Law firm has approximately 260 employees and is one of Sweden’s leading full-service business law firms. In 2015, when Setterwalls moved to new premises in the Eden Terrace Hotel at Sturegatan 10 in Stockholm, TEA was hired to customise and design the office interior including three floors and 3600 m2 of space.
The building, which dates from 1930 and was originally designed by Björn Hedvall, is considered to be of great cultural history value as one of the first purely functionalist office buildings in Sweden. TEA used the large glazed surfaces of the facade, the continuous windowpanes and the building’s open floor plan to create flexible layouts in which work areas, the library, dining area and meeting rooms all harmonise with recreational spaces.
TEA took inspiration for the decor from the ideas of functionalism with the aim of creating a peaceful and pleasant office environment. The light curtains in the windows facing Humlegården connect the interior with nature and let light into the offices, where art and books have a prominent place in the decor.
