Open hotel nestled in the archipelago

In January 2016, TEA was hired by Arkösund’s Hotel to re-create the original late 1800s hotel building, in a modern style. Recently added buildings were also to be given a consistent look. Located in the Östgötaskärgården archipelago, 50 km east of Norrköping, the hotel was destined to be opened out towards the ocean, to create a natural connection to the archipelago, piers and boating life.

Already in May 2016, Arkösund’s Hotel was re-opened for guests after the renovations. A new canopy creates a natural place where outside and inside meet, and the patio area has been expanded to increase the number of seats in the summer time. Local materials were used for the light contemporary interior, while a muted colour scheme was selected for the modern yet timeless furniture.
