In 2017, TEA was commissioned by Brabo Stockholm to develop attractive and modern housing, based on the conditions given in the detailed plan regarding the design of the street façade, courtyard, house heights, etc. The project is surrounded by streets on three sides. The customer’s desire for great variation in both and architecture resulted in two detached house volumes with their own character and color scheme. Through an opening between the houses, daylight can be reflected against the bright courtyard façade and reach the entrance terraces and patios. The exterior corridor and “bookshelves- balconies” are urban motifs that give life to the street space. A prerequisite was that the facades would have verticality. We have therefore chosen to work with standing window openings and a varied façade life that at the same time clarifies the entrance points towards Mustanggatan and Viggengatan. A recessed penthouse has provided the opportunity for generous longitudinal roof terraces for several directions. The color scheme and choice of materials harmonize with the surrounding buildings, but also give block 6 its own and strong identity.
