Echo Bunny
Mat design gives ripple effect
Stockholm Furniture Fair is the world’s largest forum for Scandinavian design. Ahead of the 2007 fair, TEA designed the Echo Bunny mat for Asplund Collection.
Asplund was founded in 1990 by brothers Michael and Thomas Asplund. It started as a small gallery at Nybrogatan 34 in Stockholm, where furniture was displayed as art. More than two decades later, Asplund furniture can be found in homes, offices and public spaces all over the world, and the company is considered a contributor to the current world view of modern Swedish design.
The company works with famous Swedish designers and their products stand out for their clean lines and elegant design along with high quality. Echo Bunny is certainly no exception.
Concentric circles characterise the mat, bringing to mind an image of the rippling rings made by throwing a stone in still water. The Echo Bunny mat material is a mixture of wool and viscose from New Zealand giving it a vivid and luxurious lustre.
