The new area Hasselnöten will be an interconnecting core in the immediate area and will connect existing residential areas in northern Upplands Väsby. Four blocks with apartments, a preschool, an outdoor swimming pool and an all-activity house will be built. Hasselnöten has been developed with a focus on sustainable life close to nature with a pleasant living environment for many generations. The town square is located at the intersection of the different blocks, serving as the meeting point of the area. Around the square, which is designed with generous seating and lush trees, you reach the area’s common laundry room, entrance to the out door bath and cafe, garage and recycling. Social aspects such as security and inclusion have been present throughout the process, and ecological sustainability, with ecosystem services, green roofs and wooden construction has been in focus. The all-activity house, a residential building and ancillary buildings are built with a wooden frame and wooden facades. TEA has developed the project in collaboration with Väsbyhem and Skanska. We look forward to continued work in the construction action phase later this year.
