TEA has, on behalf of Vectura Fastigheter, designed a care and nursing home with 60 apartments and 37 apartments for elderly in the new district of Mariastaden, Helsingborg. The apartments are organized around a building’s social hub;the common areas for socializing such as the dining room and living room. Generous balconies in several directions create the opportunity for nearby outdoor activities. In the court yard there are walking trails and a place for cultivation in close connection with the assembly hall and activity room for joint activities. The brown bricks in different shades brings to mind the city’s local building tradition. Bright plaster and a division of the buildings into different volumes breaks down the scale despite a fairly high level of exploitation. The accommodation and rental housing were completed for their new tenants in the spring of 2019.
